Article 01 Preliminary Framework

Scope & Acceptance of Covenant

By engaging with Bhadohi Rug Atelier (operating under registered commercial enterprise Global Overseas, Maryadpatti, Bhadohi, UP), commissioning bespoke weaves, ordering through our digital salon, or entering into an architectural trade relationship, you unconditionally agree to these Terms of Bespoke Commission.

Unlike mass-machined floor coverings produced in synthetic automated extrusion plants, every piece emerging from our Maryadpatti looms is a living, hand-manipulated artwork. This document defines the boundary between industrial uniformity and the natural, celebrated character of handcraft.

Patron confirmation through payment, letter of intent, or online checkout constitutes a binding artisanal agreement acknowledging the heirloom nature of natural fibers and slow-knot production cycles.

Article 02 Handcraft Specifications

Bespoke Commission & Knotting Tolerances

Every commissioned floor piece undergoes vertical warp tensioning by master artisans using traditional wooden beams and pit-looms. Consequently, absolute geometric millimetric perfection cannot exist without destroying the tactile soul of the craft.

Dimensional Variance

5% to 8% Loom Deviation

Natural tension relaxation across Bikaner virgin wool and mulberry silk warp creates acceptable variation within ±5% to 8% of intended footprint. This variance is an internationally recognized standard in Persian and Tibetan knotting guilds.

Knot Density Ratio

KPSI Calibration

Stated knots-per-square-inch (e.g., 60-knot, 100-knot, 150-knot) reflect atelier target densities. Hand knotting introduces organic micro-variations across horizontal weft beats, proving human provenance over computerized tufting.

Bespoke Production Schedules: Custom room-scale rugs require 60 to 140 operational loom-days depending on knot density. Timelines quoted in patron correspondence are earnest artistic estimates subject to monsoon humidity curing times and seasonal yarn washing protocols.

Article 03 Material Integrity

Natural Botanical Dye Patina & Abrash

Our atelier uses natural madder root, pomegranate rind, unrefined indigo, walnut husks, and certified non-toxic AZO-free pigments. Unlike chemically flattened machine carpets, authentic artisanal textiles exhibit subtle horizontal tonal shifts known as Abrash.

The Law of Natural Color Fidelity

While our digital salon photographic documentation employs color-calibrated natural daylight sensors, variation between unbleached wool clip harvests and screen displays will occur. A slight warmth or tonal drift between yarn swatch samples and full 9x12 ft salon rugs is the hallmark of genuine botanical extraction and does not constitute a defect.
