The master cartographer drafts the Talim—a coded graph matrix translating motifs into knot-by-knot weaving charts.
Hand Dyeing
Raw wool skeins are dipped into copper pots of fermented indigo, madder roots, turmeric, and dried pomegranate rind.
The Vertical Loom
Artisans chant the rhythmic talim instructions, tying individual Persian knots onto high-tension sal-wood frames.
Herbal Washing
Finished pieces undergo traditional river washes using natural soapnut (reetha) water to unlock the silk’s luminous patina.
